Assessment type: 2500 + 10% Report – individual assessment
Purpose: To allow students to continue and extend their application of the knowledge and skills of the subject to a real world example facing current issues in logistics management. This assessment relates to Learning Outcomes a, b, c and d.
Value: 30% of total marks Due Date: Week 10 – 5:00 pm Friday .
Submission: Upload a soft copy – Word .doc or .docx to Moodle and Turnitin via the link on the subject Moodle page.
Topic: The specific company to be analysed will be provided in Moodle.
Task: Students will need to analyse the company’s current logistics management related to a current issue facing logistics management in Australia today. Following the analysis students will need to propose supported recommendations for the company to manage the issue(s).The analysis and recommendations are to be presented in a 2500 + word report.
Research Requirements: Students need to support their analysis with reference from the text and a minimum of eight (8) suitable, reliable, current and academically acceptable sources – check with your tutor if unsure of the validity of sources. Groups seeking Credit or above grades should support their analysis with increased number of reference sources comparable to the grade they are seeking.
Presentation: 2500 + 10% word response – word count applies to content only, not title page, table of contents and reference list. Responses should include relevant logistics management theories – referenced and their application explained – do not just quote or paraphrase the theory. Short report format – title page, introduction, suitable headings & subheadings, recommendations, reference list – use Harvard (Anglia) referencing style.
Marking: Marks will be awarded according to the rubric on the following page. Marks will be scaled to a mark out of 30.
